Pop star Justin Bieber gave the students at Whitney Elementary School a special holiday concert in December. Now, everyone else will get a chance to see that concert. The musical event will be part of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” Wednesday.
In November, Bieber surprised the principal and the students with the announcement that he would perform there. He also promised a donation of $100,000 to the struggling school. He kept both those promises December 16.
The school has received national attention because a majority of the students do not have permanent homes. The principal, Sherrie Gahn, and her staff have stepped in to help their students. There is a food pantry, clothing closet and classes for parents. The attention from Ellen DeGeneres and other celebrities along with fundraisers by southern Nevada businesses has helped the school provide even more for the students.
DeGeneres gave the school $100,000 from Target. In November, the talk show host also announced the school would be getting a new library worth up to $200,000 courtesy of Target.
People can watch the Justin Bieber concert at Whitney Elementary School on the “Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Channel 8 at 3 p.m. Wednesday.
